Lesaffre Singapore provided a one-day training to the first year students from the Diploma in Baking and Culinary Science at Temasek Polytechnic, a post-secondary education institution in Singapore. The training was held in two batches on 7 and 8 November 2018 at Temasek Polytechnic’s baking facility. Conducted by two of our experienced technical bakers, the aim was to educate these young and aspiring bakers on the importance of differentiating the types of yeasts required in varied baking conditions and to improve baking efficiency and consistency of the final bread product with improvers.

With this hands-on training, the students also learnt about Livendo range of sourdough solutions. By incorporating unique sourdough-derived bread flavours into healthy lean-dough recipes and reinventing local sweet breads through Livendo’s flavour profiles. These trainings are part of an on-going initiative by Lesaffre to provide an authentic learning experience using actual commercial approaches to help students adapt quickly to the working environment upon graduation.
